I made some vegan Gold Star Chili. If you are familar with Cincinnati’s Gold Star Chili restaurants then you know the unique flavor. They have a spices packets which are designed to be used with tomato paste and hamburger. I substituted Meatless Ground for the ground beef and made some up.
Basically I took 1 package of Gold Star Chili seasoning, (purchase seasoning packets online here) 1 lb of Yves Meatless Ground (more info on Yves Meatless Ground – click here) , 4 oz of Hunts Tomato Paste, 6 cups of water, 1 can of kidney beans and 1 can of pinto beans and pot then in a pot. Bring to a high temperature boil then reduce the heat to Medium Low and boil/simmer for 30 minutes.
Cook up your spaghetti of choice and top with the chili.
It was very very good, I used some Vegan Cheese shreads to top it off.
