Ripe Banana Bargains –

Jan has been out of town, so I have had to shop for the fruits and veggies. THREE TIMES A WEEK … (I so appreciate her doing the shopping)

At Albertson’s I saw a bags of bananas labeled “RIPE BANANAS” on the bag. ONLY $.29 per pound.

The less ripe bananas were $.59 cents a pound … I got 16 bananas in good shape for $1.47 and I use a banana every day in my poker green smoothies. I normally buy them green and when they get ripe I peel them, break into halves and put in plastic baggies to freeze. I use the frozen ones in the smoothies when out of the fresh ones. Now I am known to squeeze a nickel and I for the life of me I can not see a benefit for paying $.30 more per pound for less ripe bananas. These will do quite nicely. Heck they are down right inexpensive.
